Co-Development Business Unit is looking for DevOps Engineer

The successful candidate will enhance the cloud infrastructure capabilities and operational excellence with integrated monitoring, security, and automation practices. This role is crucial for establishing robust observability frameworks, implementing security automation, and optimising cloud operations at scale whilst maintaining compliance with government standards.

What will you do?

Observability Implementation and Management

The DevSecOps Engineer will plan, design, implement, and maintain comprehensive observability solutions using GOVTECH's StackOps and other observability products. This includes establishing real-time visibility across distributed cloud services and implementing monitoring solutions that provide proactive system performance insights. The role requires developing and maintaining observability frameworks that support business continuity and digital transformation objectives.

Cloud Operations and Automation

Critical responsibilities include establishing essential automation capabilities such as automated certificate management and implementing automated patch management through Ansible. The engineer will create automated operational workflows that ensure consistent, secure, and efficient cloud operations whilst supporting Enterprise Singapore's cloud-native environment requirements. This includes optimising cloud operations to maximise the strategic benefits of the organisation's cloud infrastructure investment.

Security Operations and Compliance

The role involves implementing security-by-design principles and establishing automated security operations that maintain compliance with government standards. The engineer will develop capabilities for proactive security threat detection and implement security automation practices that integrate seamlessly with cloud operations. This includes ensuring that all observability and automation solutions meet stringent government security requirements.

Infrastructure and System Management

The DevSecOps Engineer will support comprehensive cloud operations for Enterprise Singapore systems, including troubleshooting and resolving complex issues across distributed cloud services. This involves maintaining optimal cloud operations through continuous monitoring, performance optimisation, and system reliability improvements. The role requires taking ownership of end-to-end observability solutions across the organisation.

Educational Background and Experience

Candidates must possess a degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer or Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, or related disciplines. Demonstrated experience in planning, designing, implementing, and maintaining observability solutions in cloud-native environments is essential. Previous experience working with government or highly regulated environments is strongly preferred.

Observability and Monitoring Expertise

The successful candidate must have hands-on experience with modern observability platforms and comprehensive monitoring solutions. Specific experience with GOVTECH products, particularly StackOps, is highly advantageous. Strong understanding of distributed cloud services monitoring and real-time visibility implementation across complex cloud environments is required.

Cloud Operations and Automation

Proficiency in cloud automation tools and practices is essential, including experience with certificate management automation and Linux patch management through Ansible. The candidate must demonstrate expertise in creating automated operational workflows and implementing automation capabilities that ensure consistent, secure, and efficient cloud operations.

Security and Compliance

Experience implementing security-by-design principles and automated security operations is required. The candidate must have knowledge of government security standards and compliance requirements, along with experience in security threat detection and security automation practices. Understanding of government regulatory frameworks and security best practices is essential.
